W.C.A.T reporting from the Final Game of the
Season
The Booker T. Washington Wildcats VS the
St Augustine
H.S. Yellow Jackets
The Wildcats lost
38-12, but our football team had the full support of the Band.
You would have never guessed that our team was losing as the band played their hearts out during the final football game of 2005.
It was the day after "Turkey day" and many of us were still tasting turkey, stuffing, pecan pie and cheese cake as we made our way to Sherman Robinson Stadium. The opposing team's band and cheerleaders had arrived early along with a good number of their fans.
The band danced, cheered, played and sang!!! Get up for the Wildcats, everybody get up and Go Wildcats!! And our version of Bob Marley's song, "hey Yellow Jackets"...
The Blue Diamond Dancers danced their ... well they danced... And they tore the place up. At half time our band played an abbreviated version of the Battle of the Bands show and they had a captive audience that appreciated the bands efforts.
You cannot say our band didn't play that night.. Yes most kids were out of school that day and were hanging out just having fun, but every Wildcat band member had their game face on that night to support our football team.
The energy flowed after the game as the Marching Wildcats, marched out of the stadium with some energetic high stepping and just plain having fun.
