Prior to becoming band director at BTWHS Mr. Young was a drumline instructor at BTWHS for 6 years and he worked for Cingular Wireless 3 1/2 years in sales before becoming band director at BTWHS on July 1, 2003. Mr. Young's professional affiliations include Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Music Educators Association, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Young believes that the people skills and leadership skills that a student receives by being part of a music program can and will help them be very successful in life. Mr. Young is a native of Pensacola, FL and a 1993 Graduate
of Booker T. Washington High School. He attended Florida A &
M University for 1 year (1993-1994) and graduated from Pensacola Junior College
in 1996. In 2000 received B.A. in Music Education from The University
of West Florida.
